The Resistix, originally named "Life Preservation System" was invented 25 years ago by Professor Marvin Gatling.  In 1967, Marvin Gatling served as a disciplined Green Beret with the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.  He served two tours and to this day states that nothing has tested his physical and mental strength like serving his country.

Professor Marvin Gatling is a Grand Master of the Toyka-Ryu System of Martial Arts. He has studied the art of Judo and the arts of Shotokan Karate, Hung Gar Fu, Isshin Ryu Karate, Aikido and Ninjutsu.

Marvin Gatling continued to train after serving duty, but still yearned to train like he did when serving in the Marine Corp.  This training was self-created and self-imposed.  To have trained while ignoring weather, pain, emotion, and death strengthened and conditioned his mind and body like nothing before.

Professor Gatling states that he prayed for a gift from a higher power (GOD).  He prayed for an apparatus that would allow him to train his body like he did, once, before.  Then one day, while working as a security officer in New York City, it came to him.
